Site licenses
MSU IT manages multiple software license servers controlling access to various software packages in use on campus. Some site-licensed and concurrent-use software are also controlled by via vendor server implementations.
Some of the site licenses sold by the Tech Store are perpetual so customers don’t have to renew them. Some are on an annual contract cycle and need to be renewed each year when they expire. General software control is managed via Sassafras KeyServer software.
MSU IT also provides audit support for campus software licenses and departments.

Classroom & computer lab software
MSU IT develops, implements, and manages software in university classrooms and computer labs, supporting more than 2,000 PCs and Macs and more than 200 software applications.
Software is provided for instructional and non-instructional use in educational settings and is developed to the specifications of faculty and staff users.
